My name is Janniel Bayard and I am the Founder of Goodie Treats. I was born and raised in Montego Bay, Jamaica and then moved to the United States in March 2011. I'm the sole operator of Goodie Treats located here in Tallahassee, Florida.

We're an independent, home based treats shop and are proud to be the favorite for many locals, with the vast majority being college students.

I do enjoy cooking, creating and anything DIY. I’ve always said that I'd like to one day start my very own business. Not just any business, but one that I'd enjoy doing and truly have a passion for. I remembered praying and asking God, what is it that I could do, and it appeared to me as I was scrolling on Instagram one day. I came across Shari's Berries and I asked myself, “Why not try chocolate covered treats?” being that Valentine’s Day was only just week away.

That same day, I purchased all the items and made my 1st batch of chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels. I asked my husband to be my taste tester & judge the taste, presentation and packaging that I had planned on offering. He said it was a hit and encouraged me to push the idea. Immediately, without any doubt nor hesitation, the name "Goodie Treats" came to mind. Goodie Treats was then founded in February 2019.

“Goodie” is a Jamaican slang-usually refers to or describes a female who is on top of her game. A beautiful woman. A successful woman. A woman who is empowered. Used by friends as a compliment.

After posting my 1st batch of treats, the word got around so quickly and orders started rolling in like. I was shocked at how things blew up overtime. Since then, Valentine’s week has been our most busiest out of the entire year. Of course, we’ve grown tremendously since then and our following as grown. Our techniques and presentation as gotten even better, and we’ve took our chocolate quality up a notch to provide our customers with only the best.

I believe in my brand and the places we’ll go. Without our customers this wouldn't have been possible and that’s why we strive to provide only the best at an affordable price.
